Is it normal to to not have sympathy for the people in my town with corona virus?

My town is full of people who don't wear masks and hang out outside in large crowds. I see lots of people who don't wash their hands in the public restrooms and they don't cover their mouths when they sneeze or cough. The town is also full of minorities and has one of the highest cases of Corona in the state. At some point my town was shown on the local news and they were saying the hospitals got too crowded and the people in my town were in tears whining and complaining about how politicians dont care about minorities. A good chunk of these idiots aren't being careful, so why are they complaining and blaming others when they won't even try to care about themselves? This is one of those moments where I feel a little embarrassed to be Hispanic. Is it normal I don't feel bad for them?

    Not sure why the ethnicity of the idiots comes into this. I've seen loads of people of European descent in Britain and lots of photos of lily-white Americans who are behaving like they believe either that the virus is all fake news or they're immune.

    The world is full of cretins, and this is one of those situations where it's morally justified to focus on looking after Number One. Leave the fools to be foolish, and do your best to take care of yourself and those you care about.
