Is it normal to to flirt with cashier who's foreign

Every morning before work, I go to my local deli to grab a coffee and bagel.
The lady who serves me speaks spanish. I find her very adorable. We make great eye contact with a small smile.
is it normal to tell someone 'I find you so adorable'.
I don't want a date, I don't want anything from her. (a relationship wouldn't work)
I just want to touch her hand and say those words – hoping that she feels warm and sweet after hearing it.

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Even if you did want a relationship it wouldn't be a bad thing. Sheesh has political correctness really ruined male-female social dynamics so much that such disclaimers are necessary?

Political correctness ruins everything it touches. That's the point if it.

    • No, not political correctness. Rape.

        Flirting is not rape.

        • Obviously. I'm saying rape has ruined male-female social dynamics to the point where men need to be careful how they express their appreciation or attraction to women because a lot of women are rightly afraid and as a group, men are pretty reckless when it comes to expressing themselves.

Wait, so rape is a new thing?

            • No. Women having autonomy and freedom of movement is a relatively new thing, but men not feeling the need to control their own impulses and feeling entitled to women's bodies is the oldest fucking construct on Earth.

  • I think it's great to tell someone you appreciate them, especially if they make your day brighter on a regular basis, but when you're a man talking to a woman, especially a woman of another culture, it's important to think about how you phrase what you say. "It's always nice to see you," is probably what I'd say in that situation.

Sure. Just be really careful with the word adorable. Some people take it as a criticism. A better way to say it might be, "I adore you." That way you show a more personal regard, less passing commentary.

"Adorable" and "I adore" have two completely different connotations. Adoring a stranger is creepy as fuck.

For me, "I adore you" is something you say to a lover, not a cashier (foreign or not) whom you happen to like.

Don't see why the OP can't just say something like, "Seeing you in the morning gets my day off to a good start", or something similar. That's honest, and it doesn't come across as suggesting you want to marry her, or take her in the back for a quickie.
