Is it normal to think you will never find someone with the same quality as your ex?

I recently got out of a relationship and the most common thing I think of is that in the next relationship my partner won't have the qualities I love of my last partner. Even if my future partner has qualities I love as well it's almost like a trade.

An example would be my one partner always knows how to make me laugh, while the other partner is very affectionate. Both traits I love, but I will never have both. I realize that this is probably not true and is extremely drastic. I just wanted to know if this is a common thought coming out of a relationship.

Absolutely. Your mind will make psychological connections with a significant other, and your brain will not have cpnnections with anyone but them in that way, causing your mind to not know what its like to see other people that way. Until you meet somebody.

Sadly you'll never have that exact person again. It's a trade off really. You'll have to learn to appreciate them for other traits since they won't be identical....:/
