Morally Islam considers itself superior, obeying gods commands to the T, but then again, the Aztecs sacrificed children to the rain god and thought they where being "Moral" as well so that's all relative. ( Stoning's, honor killings, and the lack of action against FGM sure aren't moral in my book, but oh well they have their own)
In practical terms, I.e. living standards, wealth, health and safety, general freedom of speech and the press, were are certainly their superiors, no one can deny that, the best moments of the middle easts troubled histories was when they where under the rule of secular dictators, and if that's not disheartening, I don't know what is.
