Is it normal to think i'm better at something than somebody that i'm mad at.

Whenever I get into a little fight with a friend or I get upset with them, I always think of something I'm better at than them. Once I do this I feel like I'm better than them and I should be mad at them. Is this normal?

  • I do that too. I think a lot of people do. It makes us feel better about ourselves and that our actions and feelings are justified. Whether it's justified in reality, who knows?

  • I think it's perfectly normal, and I actually do it, too. Besides, it's better to think how you're better than them then to say, throw a punch, either at them or at something else.

  • I'm sure they're also better at something than you though. Maybe you should look at why you're mad and try to resolve that issue. Then maybe you wouldn't be so mad anymore.
