Something has been bothering me a lot about a discussion I had with my man about ejaculating on women's faces. He said it was more of like the man wanting to be accepted and wanting her to accept his body the way it is. (Though I know plenty of women dislike the smell or taste) Which brings me to my question, does it make sense that a woman might feel the same way when it comes to her period?

Yeah, that kind of makes sense to me. All sexual stuff is personal and weird, so it might make sense to you but not to anyone else.

I think face-ejaculating is more about a guy marking his place on the most often seen/recognisable part of a woman, the part that's paid most attention in normal life. There are two main aspects at hand in this, the first being a comparison between the action of ejaculating directly onto a face/into a mount and the action of performing oral on a woman currently on her period. Secondly, we should compare the actual fluids involved.
Just to note, these are all my opinions and subject to plenty of bias, and this is going to be unnecessarily wordy, because that's how I roll. As a reference, I'll point out that I'm a man, and, while I gladly kiss my fiancee deeply after she performs oral sex on me, I haven't ever given her oral sex while she is on her period or expected her to perform it on me when her period blood is on my stuff.
Ejaculation onto a face primarily seems to be a stark mark-of-dominance gesture, especially when it occurs above the mouth. When only the mouth/lower jaw are involved in ejaculation, it's more closely oriented to simple fellatio, which, just like cunnilingus, is much more fluid in who the dominant partner is. Oral sex itself is certainly a matter of accepting another person's body.
For a man to perform oral sex on a woman when she is off her period, it has virtually all the same implications as it would on a man. For a woman who is on her period, this would without a doubt mean that her partner is exceedingly comfortable with her body, but, as period blood and semen aren't perfect analogs, this is where we get to the substance comparison.
To me, period blood, while not a deterrent to sex, seems to be a less ingestible substance than semen. In addition to imprinted societal beliefs that period blood is "unclean," this may have a lot to do with the fact that, outside of fetishes, we generally tend to place raw blood in the "non-food" category of things to put in our mouths, and the interesting mixture of substances that makes up period blood may simply be too complex to easily accept as an ingestible substance.
Semen, on the other hand, tastes weird as hell and often has the consistency of nasty. It is, however, directly related to sex and is technically supposed to enter the body, whereas period blood is caused by the seperate operation of the uterine lining being discarded and refreshed. This, coupled with societal acceptance, may play a big part in the differing views on the two substances.
So, I think the dynamics make it different. For ejaculating on the face, it's a gesture of dominance that may or may not feel demeaning to the receiver, depending strongly on the situation. For oral sex on a woman who is on her period, it shares the "weird substance" quality that semen does, but it's more difficult to accept getting it that close to the mouth.
