Is it normal to tell your friend her neck smells good

She hugged me where my nose was near her neck and because I breathe, I noticed her neck smelled good. I told her and she was very uncomfortable. Whenever I asked anyone else they were uncomfortable too.

      I said it like you would tell someone they look good today. Just like a normal compliment
