Is it normal to tell offensive jokes?
My friends and I all crack racist/sexist/otherwise offensive jokes.
The jokes we make do not, in general, offend anyone who we are making the joke to. If they do, the offender always apologizes and ceases making that genre of joke around that person.
We don't go around saying this stuff in public(twitter, etc.), because it would inevitably be taken out of joking context/someone would find it offensive, and that would end up badly.
I don't believe in the sentiment of any of the jokes I make. I truly think that my friends don't either. It's just the type of humor we choose to use.
For instance, I'm German; my Great-Grandfather died fighting Russians in WWII. I make Nazi jokes. I'm good friends with a Jewish guy I met online.
Is it okay to make a joke about black culture(not low-hanging fruit like "haha chicken watermelon grape soda," but a witty joke within the context) when I'm white and the recipient is Columbian? What about white and white? White and black?
Personally, I'm not offended by racist jokes against white people. We can't dance? I sure can't. If the joke is witty, I'll laugh. If the joke is forced or if it's "white people bad haha laugh now please" I simply don't find it funny.
Is it normal/okay to tell racist/sexist/offensive jokes to those that find it funny?
