Is it normal to sympathise with the "villians" of history. hitler, lenin, gadafi
More and more i find that throughout history i tend to "go" for the bad guys. Hitler/Japan, USSR, Libya. About ww2 i admired the tactics and strageies of the Nazis. I do not admire the Holocaust, that was pointless and cruel. However i may find the idea of discrimation based on race stupid but i support eugenics as a whole. I admire their military tactics. A whole lot of things.
In the cold war i always try to justify the things that USSR did. The flip side to the story. I'm fairly sure this is a reaction to american dominated history books and film industry. I'm sick of seeing the good guys always win despite the odds. I want to see reality.
Which brings me to my final point, Libya. I'm getting really sick of all the "well done" news reports about the airstrikes in Libya. Because this is Illegal. What is happening there isn't a slaughter of civilians, a genocide or a campaign of terror. it is the long term LEGITIMATE goverment fighting a civil war. Both sides are armed, both sides placed their bases inside civilian population centres. SO WHY IS GADAFI the bad guy. Oh thats right because he isn't in favour of democracy. Well boo-fucking who. The rule of the world is the person with the biggest and most guns wins. Another thing when the UN declared a "No-fly" zone over Libya.
1:Why do they have authority of a soverign intact nation?
2:After shooting down anything flying why are we still attacking?
3:How does attacking all ground forces to and i quote "eliminate the libya military as a fighting force" constiute enforcing a no-fly zone? First the planes, then the bases, then the supply centres, then the command centres, now all military targets. THIS ISN"T WHAT THE UN SANCTIONED.
Ok sorry i get a little angry talking about this. So is it normal to sympathise with the people we have been continually taught to hate and despise?
