Is it normal to struggle cleaning up my room

Some people would call me lazy for my lack of tidiness.

However the real reasons why I struggle with this are mainly 4 things

1. When I was a child, my parents would nitpick my efforts. An example would be: stuffed animals didn't belong on a shelf. My dad even made bigger messes and told me to clean it up properly.

2. They would keep me in my room hours on end until my room was their equivalent of clean. This method didn't help as I got bored and felt depressed.

3.I tend to focus on the small details rather than the bigger picture. An example would be such as fixing shelves for 20 minutes.

4. When I did clean my room, it didn't feel natural to me. Sure, my parents were proud of me. However, it felt like I was in a different room and couldn't wait until it accumulated again.

I still struggle to clean my bedroom, which isn't a good thing. I've been better at not taking as much time as I used to. It's just sometimes I lack motivation and the energy to get it done. Any tips for gaining motivation and energy?
