Is it normal to spend more time in washroom to avoid toddler?

We are a family of 5 adults, a kid and 2 dogs. I have a full time job and usually don't stay well. I love my only kid who is 2+ but almost everyday I stay in the washroom for much longer times. I know he is safe with my in-laws.

    I get needing a break if you care for a kid all day...but it sounds like you have assistance and should be able to get an actual break?

    Could you go into more detail?
