Is it normal to see the future?

Ever since I was a child I sometimes had dreams involving something that would happen to me in the future. Usually they are small things such as having a conversation, going somewhere I've never been before, etc. I remember a time when I dreamed about a house that I've never been too and having a lengthy conversation with my dad.

Years later, I come to live in the exact same house in my dream, and when I first arrive have the exact same conversation with my dad.

I don't get as many future dreams as I did as a child, however I do still get then occasionally.

What I want to know is, is this possible? Has anyone else dreamed of the future? I also predicted that Obama would become president before he did, I told my parents but they didn't believe me. I may have also had a recent dream of who the next president will be, but honestly I can't remember it at the moment, as time gets closer that's when I can remember the future dream better.

Is It Normal?

  • It's memory glitches. People don't realize how bad their memory actually is or how it even works. When stuff like this happens it's most likely you creating false memories or putting things together in the wrong order after the fact. It's a lot more comforting to think you predicted the future rather than face the fact that your memory is crap.

    • I know that it was a man in my dream, so I'm guessing either Bernie sanders or trump. I have a feeling that I saw bernie (surprisingly) but I'll get back to you if I can remember more or have the dream again.

  • My grandma used to have them. Once she dreamed that one of her closest friends was saying good bye to her, because she was leaving for ever. The next morning she died. Also, when she was in her last days (she was really ill) the light in her room started to fail a lot, and when she died, in that exact second, the light went out. I don't know if it's the same as you, but at least she also had these dream-future thing.

  • That's called de ja vue and very common. It's not about predicting the future it's about experiencing something you believe has been predicted or has happened before.

As for your presidential prediction regarding Obama, that wasn't very hard to work out: how many candidates were there to choose from? Lots of other people predicted it too.

    • I didn't predict it though, I had a dream plus I don't live in America and honestly didn't even know who Obama was until my dream.

      • So did you tell anyone about these dreams at the time or write them down?

I've had one dream in my long life which was very detailed and predictive, including a person I hadn't then met or heard of. At the time I was recording my dreams, so when the events actually happened I went back to my journal to check the details which were 90% correct.

I do believe this can happen but like ESP it's too unpredictable to be relied on.

        • When I was younger I told my mum but she didn't really seem to care or believe me and I didn't want to tell my friends because I was scared they might think I'm crazy or joking, so I've kind of kept it to myself.

I used to write the dreams down as a kid but that was back when I was getting them like once a week, it's slowed down now and I usually only get one once a month. (I can tell when it's a future dream because I rarely ever dream or the dreams I do have are super weird and know will not happen in real life, like flying caterpillars lol)

          • Sorry, but I think you're deluding yourself. The only way I'd believe it would be for you to post all your dreams on here and then report when they come true

            • Mm, I'd rather not waste my time on proving myself right to just one person. I literally have a whole notebook of dreams, it would take ages to write them down here plus where am I going to post it? This site is for questions isn't it?

Maybe when bernie sanders becomes president you'll believe me.

          • OK cool , on a side note, is a galaa a real thing? (spelling could be wrong). Galaa as in "ya flamin galaa" - if so, what is it?

            • A galah is a bird, quite an attractive pink & grey, but hated by farmers because flocks of them can damage crops.

            • Oh man, I honestly have no idea, sorry :( My parents don't use Australian slang such as g'day and stuff because they weren't raised here and I grew up in the city parts, you gotta go out in the bush to hear most people saying that. (I have a accent though)
