You'll never truly know... Men can be very tactical about this stuff and will "feed you the dream" if they want to get with you. If you don't know what feeding the dream is it basically means they tell you what they think you want to hear.
Don't listen to Flare... You can respect yourself and still have sex regularly, in fact considering it's one of the best forms of weight loss, it's actually healthy.
From my own personal experience of when I truly fell in love, the things that made it noticeable for me was that I was at times blowing off my best friends to hang out with her... Another tell tale sign is when a friend of his calls him "whipped" and he admits to it. A guy who doesn't truly like you like that will always get defensive and say they're not whipped. Though, sometimes men can be stubborn and will say they aren't whipped even though it's completely obvious they are.
The thing is that the guy I'm seeing KNOWS he'd get JUST as much sex and cuddle without having to make me believe things. I contacted him after a breakup because I wanted casual sex . But then things started to feel different and he says stuff like "You seem to be the perfect girlfriend" or when we cuddle and kiss out in public too.
I know that I probably need to address this eventually but at the same time I do not wish to rush into things either because he might think that he's just a rebound.
If you've started to develop real feelings for him then I'd speak to him about it. What's the worst that can happen? Take the risk, 'cause you'll never know if you don't ask :)

yes, I'm a coward but I also base this on the fact that I have been single for ONE month and would prefer to get to know him better before I take that step.
