Is it normal to pretend to be mildly autistic so people will leave me alone

I am already "socially awkward" but this does not stop some people, because physically I appear normal (as in, not ugly). I've started to adopt some autistic behaviors to sort of throw them off the trail, like avoiding eye contact. I know this is considered a social faux-pas, and I used to avoid doing anything like that, but I just don't even care anymore if half the people I know would realize I don't give a shite about satisfying their social needs and just leave me alone. IIN?

As someone who is genuienly mildly autistic & not openly 'ugly' as you stated it, nothing on this site has had me screaming 'WOOWWWW' as this one, & I just finished reading "Do you ever get so bored you want to harm others."

    What the Fuck dude.

I guess I relate to an extent. But part of it is I'm not in a great spot. Keeping to myself helps me from overextending myself

What trail are you trying to throw them off? Sounds as if you're deliberately isolating yourself from others: why?

    • Hmm well I guess I am "emotionally retarded" or something but I have no interest in relationships as much as everyone around me seems to.

Avoiding eye contact doesn't work, people still talk to me

    • They still talk to me too but it's funny then to make them wonder why I'm not looking at them
