  • I don't think it's wrong, infact I think it's pretty sweet that a guy can take an interest in children having fun. Ofcourse, a lot of people may get weird ideas, the parents being some of those people. Just the other week a guy was massively portrayed as a predator for simply taking a selfie near kids when he was taking one next to a Starwars cutout to send to his kids.

I would suggest going to the parents and tell them that their daughter has been coming over to you to play so that they don't find it out themselves and get the wrong idea. That way they'd know that you're not trying any funny business by letting them know if they're fine with it and that you have no problem entertaining their child.

In Wales there was this neighbor who would take in my little brother who was quite young at the time, around 11 or 12. He was around late forties or early fifties. He was great. He would take him in to his house, teach him about boats and sailing, take him fishing, and show him productive things. He was an awesome guy and I didn't spend much time with him but I knew him enough to know he was a good guy.

I think my brother was looking for a father figure and found one in my neighbor. Maybe this little girl is doing the same? Is her father involved in her life?

To sum it up, I think it's sweet. I think you should inform the parents though so that you give a good impression before they make their own of you. :)
