Is it normal to not trust your parents

They have never done anything to me, and generally aren't malicious or deceptive people. The only things they've done to me were spank me as a child (which I feel like is normal for most people), and have the inability to make plans with them since they tend to change things last minute. From the outside they're smart and genuine people who have good values, but for me it feels like I can never talk to them, or trust them with anything important. I feel like confronting them won't help me because these feelings aren't being caused by anything in particular. Idk, I just hope I'm not the only one out there who feels this way

Its normal depending on the situation and your age. No offense it could be just a maturity thing or phase you're going through

They haven't established a close enough bond with you, and probably don't take time to give you personal space or to understand who you are. It's normal not to trust them, when they haven't met up to your trust.

It's not easy to trust people who change plans at the last minute.

Consistancy is a good person trait.

Maybe you're shielding them from all of your oddities.

I don't either on most things. Don't worry bout it.
