  • Psychopaths do have emotions in a way, they're just shallow emotions. More like reactions to immediate needs than the real emotions normal people have. But a psychopath could easily mistake them for proper emotions. For example many psychopaths claim to love the people they've abused or murdered, that's certainly not love in the way I experience love.

You wouldn't feel guilty if you killed a person, can you ever feel guilt? Remorse? Or do you just see those things as something other people experience that makes them inferior to you and easy to manipulate?

Anyway, I think it's pretty normal not to think dead bodies and blood and gore are gross if you've never seen it for real. Anime blood and gore isn't even very realistic. If you have seen that kind of thing in real life and felt absolutely nothing you're probably a psychopath, but if you've never seen it in real life it's possible that you're normal and would react normally if you ever did see it in real life.

Can you explain what you mean by "i dont think killing is wrong"? Do you seriously think it's never wrong to end someone else's life, even when they have done nothing wrong and still desperately want to live, or do you think it's not inherently wrong and can be OK in some circumstances? If you think it's never wrong, would it still not be wrong if I tracked you down and killed you?

There's a big difference between seeing something on TV and seeing it in real life, and there's a big difference between fantasizing about doing something and actually doing it.

  • obviously, you have emotions for yourself, but if you had emotions for others, then you wouldn't say you could kill and not think it's wrong. have you ever seen the real thing? being retired from military and firefighting, i can tell you, it's pretty rough.

tv, movies and such are pure fun because it's safe. you know, not real. i love the stuff in movies and on tv, but totally different thing in real life.

having emotions isn't your saving grace when you talk about mental illness. plus, your emotions only seem to be working for you, therein lies the rub.

don't think about killing anyone, even if you say it wouldn't bother you, because becomming Bubba's girlfriend in prison and getting bf'd all day you probably won't enjoy.

    • ...No, there's no heaven. When you die that's it, that's the end, no more you.

Why do you believe in heaven? That's really weird. Heaven is a religious thing, and I'm pretty sure that all religions teach that killing is wrong.

Even if there were a heaven, it's pretty hard to kill someone without causing them pain (even things like poison are likely to cause stomach pain and stuff). Do you think it's right to take pleasure in another person's pain?

I really don't think you would take pleasure in it if you did see it in real life, though. It's nothing like seeing road kill.

  • I would kill someone in self defense, but not for my pleasure or for the hell of it (or I might kill for pleasure if my sanity finally snaps and I turn into a complete maniac).

  • yes and no.

extremely bloody/gory movies don't bother me. ... when they're over-the-top in violence it turns unrealistic so my "bleh" factor is turned off.

when the violence is REALISTIC however, less is more.

Example - the extra blood effects in "Spartacus" didn't bother me... it was borderline unrealistic. But the simple "cutting some guy's ear off" in "Reservoir Dogs" freaked me the fuck out because I could really imagine it happening.

Or ... horror movies, eh. ok.
but seeing photos of blood splatter from a REAL crime scene? **shudder**

  • I'm right there with you I'm not crazy it's just that we're used to it because of the movies.

  • You sound like a typical guy. Sure, in animations or even in movies it is cool but real life is different. However, I am in the same boat as you and also are no longer scared of movies or badly written games as the 'shock' value is long since pased now for me.
