I'm pretty much the same way. I've raised my kids. They are adults now but still live at home so I don't have empty nest syndrome. What's next for me? My family doesn't share my interests. I try to fit into theirs but I still feel the same. I'm a sounding board for everyone else. So maybe that's my purpose. To help. I still feel like something is missing though.
Hopfully you will find your purpose. Alot of people feel the same as you. You are not alone in this thought.
