Is it normal to not be able to get over someone that’s gay?

I’ve only felt this strong for someone when it comes to this guy, and as hard as I try to tell myself that I can’t be with him, I want nothing but to be his girlfriend and have a relationship with him. It feels like once I got to know him, I finally felt what love is like (I used to believe I was asexual and aromantic). Does this happen to anyone else, I mean liking someone who is either gay or completely unavailable?

Yep, its normal and common for people to want someone they'll never ever be with. Your feelings for him will fade with time.

Maybe you have a fear of intimacy, or a fear of committment. What could be safer than someone you can never have?

That’s actually a good point. I do kinda have a fear of abandonment in relationships, so maybe that’s why.

I mean no reason to not be, I wanted advice so I’m glad someone gave it. Thanks again :)

Unrequited love isn't the end of the world. It just feels like it.
