Interesting. Don't see too many around here that would even know the term "pansexual" so good for you finding out who you are and what you like.
Personally, in a situation like this I would go slowly with caution, or alternately just jump and see if there's a net waiting to catch you.
The slow is to avoid blowing it, therefore losing it. The jump is to find out and get it over with one way or the other. I'm more of a jump sort of chap so I know what I would do, but those are essentially your options.
