  • I am 49 years old and have been rubbing nylon bags since I was a toddler. My ex-husband made me throw the one I had away because he was "jealous" of it! Probably why he's my ex!! I'm remarried and my husband now could care less. He does comment once in a while when we're watching tv and I'm rubbing it harder than usual that I'm going to town on it. That's generally when I'm more stressed than normal. I bring it everywhere with me! I own my own business and keep one at my desk, in the car while driving...everywhere! I stress if I lose it and can't find a replacement! I have a friend that rubs the end of her baby blanket that she still has and she is 53 before she goes to bed. I've always wondered if there were other people that did it with the fabric that I do and as often! It's great to know that I'm not as weird as I thought I was!! :)

    • Totally relate! I have the same stashes of nylon in my car, purse, backpack, desk at work and even in bed. It use to drive my Mom nuts cause I would wear out the liner of my jackets and sometimes make so much noise in church or watching tv. I always felt it was harmless and soothing, but am embarrassed when I am in public and don't realize I am doing it. My fav is inside of jogging pants, but now they have mesh so I have a few pairs I keep fixing and re sewing together. I also had a jogging suit of all nylon I took my first born home in, my mom just shook her head but I still have pieces of it. My hubby don't care, but it drives my kids nuts so they steal them. Only issue is now I have Carpal Tunnel from doing it so long and need surgery so my hubby wants me to quit, but I can't. How do you stop anyways?
