I can't believe I am not alone!!! I also began with a silky quilted baby blanket. I am now 38 and for as long as I can remember,the determining factor for selecting a jacket or coat is the silky liner. Of course I always bought a size too big so I could easily and discreetly pull my hand up into the sleeve and rub between my thumb and forefinger until my hand began to spasm. A few years back I rediscovered the ecstasy (lol) of the sleeping bag. Now getting in the right position to fall asleep has become a strict routine that begins with pulling a nice sized fold of the silky stuff up in between my big toe and the one next to it, while being careful to leave enough slack to reach the hand that is tucked under my pillowcase. If I have to wear socks to bed I actually cut a hole in the sock on my right foot between the first two toes so I can still rub with them! Try explaining that to people who make fun!
