As most of you I have done this since I was a baby and I'm now 41 and still do it daily! I just recently told someone (first person EVER) that I do this and she suggested I look online to see if it's common.
For me I only enjoy the feeling of nylon between my finger and thumb. No other fabric does it for me and not just any nylon it has to be a certain type. I've also noticed that (don't laugh) humidity plays a big part in how it feels and if I like it! The dryer the weather the better! Humid days and rainy days suck! Living in the desert helps this a lot. My dear friend recently bought a necklace that came in a small black nylon bag that when she showed me I immediately started to rub on the bag. She said casually, "you can have the bag if you want it" with a grin on her face. I haven't put it down since!
god i find it really weird when I feel my clothing tags in school but idk it kinda goes back to when my cousins made me this blanket and the edges of them had the soft nylon ribbon feel and it just kinda stuck. It's kinda like a calming habit of some sort.
IIN to love to rub fabrics between my fingers?
