If you play video games at all you might find the plot of Vanillaware’s highly acclaimed, 13 Sentinels quite interesting. I wont spoil it but from your description it sounds like there are some similarities to Steins;Gate.
It was and is important to me to stress the non-sexual nature of my attraction to the cute anime aesthetic with it’s themes of friendship and adventure.
I don’t relate anime girls to real human females except in the most wholesome of ways - especially the younger looking characters who I feel duty bound to protect.
Gratuitous fan servicey stuff that constantly portrays young anime girls in their underwear, posing provocatively really grosses me out. Take a look at something like Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash to see what I’m talking about. I just don’t get the attraction unless you’re an immature teenage boy with no access to real pornography - which is practically nobody these days.
So the idea of Hentai depicting similar characters with genitalia doing hardcore stuff is completely disgusting to me.
