Is it normal to like animals but not want pets?

I love animals, especially dogs, but when I have my own house I don't want pets. I just like being alone in a quite house with occasional company.

Is It Normal?

    I hear you. I love cats and I have many friends who are cats (who are cats belonging to my friends), but I don't want to keep a box of shit in my house and have a hair covered house so I just want to be friends with cats but not own one.
    I get what you are saying.

    I like dogs. Hell I was a dog handler in the Army. But I haven't had a dog in 20 years. Go figure.

        Shut up. Pitbulls are the worst. They are ticking time bombs. They're all innocent then all of a sudden they just snap. Not to mention, they're ugly as hell. They look like miniature hippos. Pitbulls should be banned and people who own them should be taken to a mental institution.
