Sometimes you must be prepared to kill.
Imagine you had kids or something you cared about and the only way to protect them is to kill the threat.
When it comes down to that you must kill or fail.
I just can't imagine this situation. I live in a very safe city! I've never see a gun, or never been scared of dying. Do not know anybody who has been murdered, or anybody who knows anybody who has been murdered.
You must always be prepared to kill someone because sometimes someone you love will die if you don't and it will be all your fault.
I have known several murders and suicides. It can happen to anyone at any time and by not being prepared you become responsible.
I am sorry you live in a culture where murders and suicides are a normal thing. I much prefer living in mine, where I think of guns and murders only in movies, and not in real life.
