Is it normal to keep thinking about this dream

Is it normal I keep thinking about this dream throughout the day after waking up this morning?

It's just a dream about Elon Musk holding both of my hands from behind by surprise and pulled my body to lean on his chest. I felt very calm and safe when he did that to me in that dream. It's crazy how a dream could make me feel this way.

After waking up and realized it's just a ridiculous dream, I can't help feeling sad somehow and still thinking about it.

    • It must be when we keep thinking about someone we desire to meet that they appear in a dream.

I realized few weeks ago I was reading articles regarding Elon Musk's crazy project but surprised that he appeared in my dream in a romantic manner.

When you meant by dissapointment after waking up, I am sure I know how you feel.

I have dreams about Gerard Butler all the time. I once dreamt of David Caruso.

Yesterday afternoon though I had a dream about my first love from when I was 19 or 20.

    • So, did you think about them like I did? I mean all day.

I still can't get rid of that dream and that scenario. I do find Elon Musk hot in real life though so perhaps that's why this simple dream still haunts me. Problem is I feel sad thinking about the scenario for some reason.

Um... yeah, but I try not to obsess. I find the less I obsess or otherwise fantasize during waking hours the more interesting, and enjoyable my dreams are.

        • It's cool that you can control yourself from obsessing over a dream.

If it's me starting to obsess on something, it will be a long mental battle throughout the days, weeks or even months.

I actually used to obsess about things a lot, but as it turns out often times it's pointless. Cognitive behavioral therapy has helped me a lot. Also I have come to the realization that if I spend too much time living in my head that I am cheating myself out of my life in reality.

I also think coming to this website, and sharing with others who have similar problems has helped me a lot.

We often dream of people we’ve never met in waking life... they usually represent someone you know personally.. hope this helps some. Sometimes we even dream of people we’ve never met or even seen on television. It’s crazy how our minds can create an image of someone we’ve never crossed paths with.

    • I've to agree with your comment as this happened to me numerous times before. The annoying thing is I still think about that dream and it makes me sad for some reason.

It's normal to remember vivid dreams the next day or even long after that: I can remember a few very vivid dreams I had years ago.
