Is it normal to keep falling asleep and still awake tired as before?

For two days I've been feeling fatigued or exhausted and usually it gets stronger and stronger the more I try to stay awake. Though, more often than not I end up falling asleep only to wake up a couple hours later (varies from 2-7) and again I feel drain of all my energy.

I'm not sick, and my allergies are only somewhat bothering me. I am not taking any medications that cause drowsiness, also this has never happened before at least to my knowledge.

If this continues much longer you need to see your doctor: it could be caused by lots of things, including anemia, sleep apnea or a heart condition

You may need sleep medication until you are back to normal, but you should also report the previous problem to your doctor. In any case, I hope you get better soon.

It's not normal, and it sounds to me like a medical or psychological condition. Depression can cause this, but the other conditions mentioned above can as well. I recommend looking for a doctor.

Perhaps you have a thyroid condition?

    • I'm pretty sure my father had something of that.
