The weirdest thing here is you choosing to keep a sex toy that's grotty and unhygienic. If you regularly use it, give the thing a thorough clean, and make it a point to rinse it out and let it air-dry after future uses. If you're not using it regularly, throw it out.
I don't have any sex toys, but I have occasionally wondered how my wife and daughter would react if I died and they found the fairly large collection of porn and erotic stories (some of which I've written) on my PCs. It would definitely let them see a side of me that they're not familiar with, and I imagine it might make them question how well they knew me. But I prefer to believe they're both smart enough to eventually come to the conclusion that everybody has the right to have some secrets, and the only thing that really mattered was the relationship we had when I was alive.
Woe betide anyone who reads my journals after my end, I tried not to be too graphic in the hand-written ones, but the one on my laptop is certainly enough to scar even the brave of heart. Hopefully my relatives wouldn’t click on that one, if my friends did they would probably recognise sections from the dramatic readings I’ve given and maybe even weave them into my eulogy.
On a philosophical level you have constructed a comforting sense of reasonableness surrounding the continuity of memories. But I see the cold logic more like this:
Woman's Epitaph: She lived with an unwashed vagina.
Op's Epitaph: He lived with an unwashed plastic vagina.
The woman, at least a foul smelling fleshlight can be hidden away in a drawer all day, there’s no getting away from the vile fishy stench of a displeased vagina between your legs.
