Is it normal to have your mom as your maid of honor in your wedding?

So I just recently got engaged and as you do when getting married you think about all the people you want next to you. I have so many brides maids but I honestly feel like my mom is my best friend. Is it weird to ask your mom to be your maid of honor?

I've seen weddings where the best man was the father of the groom. I think it's perfectly acceptable and your mother will be flattered.

Just consider the following to confirm you are being normal.

Which person do you feel closest to?
Who has more time to help you with the wedding?
Shouldn't family come first? (The sister usually has dibs in being the MoH)

If she fits the bill? You're normal.

There's really nothing wrong with that.

Not weird at all. You'll have a lovely wedding. Just don't get a cake with coconut.

It means you have a close relationship with your mom and Im sure she will be honored. I sadly have a horrible relationship with mine. Be happy fate blessed you with a decent family.

Sure! That sounds sweet and I'm sure she'll be flattered.
