    Long ago, I lived in Canberra for two years. I left because my work visa had expired.

        Yup. Alice Springs, climbed Uluru, dove the reef at Cairns, circled Tassie, visited Barossa and drank the wine, hiked beaches, the rocks in Sydney, Melbourne. I did it all including side trips to Hong Kong and NZ South Island. It was all long ago in the last half of the twentieth century. I had the time of my life.

          You climbed Uluru? You didn't know the Aboriginal people don't want anyone to climb it for spiritual reasons?

            Back then there was a white stripe painted on it that you could follow to stay away from the dreamtime spirits.
