Is it normal to have this thing on the ceiling at work blink when i move

It's like a small white saucer type thing with a white dome in the middle and there's a little red light that blinks whenever I move. Is it a motion sensor for the lights or is it a camera? wtf is it and do all offices have this?

Possible a motion sensor for the lights or a smoke or co alarm most likely

It's probably part of the security system or maybe the climate-control monitoring system if your building is new.
