Is it normal to have these thoughts?

Some people, who are not violent by nature, deal with anger or resentment by imagining harming or killing the person who has angered them. They may have mental images/fantasies about causing that person great pain, but have no intention of acting on these thoughts.

One suggestion I can make is to turn your anger into a learning experience for yourself by dealing with those intense feelings in a different way. What I mean is to channel those emotions into "writing about the situation". Then put it aside for a day or two, read it again, edit it, write more about it, and maybe it will resolve itself in your head to the point where you don't have intense thoughts of anger and you may learn some stuff all on your own that helps in the next similar situation. If you go through this process you may just wind up not thinking about any more, understanding it better, figuring out what really happened/went wrong, or even come up with something in writing that you want to send to the person who angered you that gets your point across in a civil way. More than likely you can just write, keep it to yourself, and chalk it up to to the fact that people are not always cool: then you can move on peacefully and with a clear mind.
