Is it normal to have no problem with women being 'sexualized'?

You hear a lot nowadays about women being overly 'sexualized' as if its this awful thing. Just my family and friends alone always complain about movies, TV commercials, social and work sitautions and even pornography and they say its sad or depressing how 'sexualized' women are. But I'm over here wondering why they are concerned. These same typa people think prostitution is a horrible sin as well. All of these women on display in the media, agree to it. And so what if lonly guys fap to it? People make it seem like it such a bad thing. If you want to make a living as an actor or model because your sexy and or suck good dick and or make moaning sounds that get people off, then go for it! I would almost say we should encourage the sexualization of women, and all people for that matter! Can someone explain to me why anyone has a problem with the 'sexualization' of womem? They are taking advantage of their natural advantages just the same as a tall person takes advantage of that by playing basketball!

I hate it when people go "Women are sexualized in movies"

Would you watch a movie starring your local supermarket's fat, sweaty, semi-female looking cashier with a unibrow?!

No, sex sells. You want your actress to be sexy, beautiful, cool and have interesting scenes and dialogue.

I don't think sexualization is as bad as the extreme sjw feminists describe it. Also if a woman chooses to wear a really tight and short dress, it's her choice. Obviously she WANTS to be noticed and feel sexy.
Pretty sure women sexualize men too and that's ok too.

As an SJW feminist I agree. If I'm going to be starting at someone on the big screens for a few hours, I'd hope they would at least be pleasing to look at.

The problem is with treating all women as objects of desire instead of people, which is a point that some people miss.

That's not what an sjw feminist would say... I would have expected you to call me a pig, bigot, racist, sexist, chauvinistical ass fat for being born white, with a penis and compare me to Donald Trump... Cause he is the greatest evil in universal history...

You are definitely not one of those wackos. You seem pretty normal and are ok in my book.

Those wackos aren't feminists, they're female incels, giving the rest of us a bad name.

Also, thanks. I try to lessen the issue of political polarization whenever I can; I'm mostly liberal but I have some moderate and conservative views. It's concerning how much of politics-related debate nowdays resembles two groups of monkeys throwing shit at each other, ad infinitum.

You don't seem like a SJW feminist to me! At least not the ones steven crowder makes fun of. I thought they always complained about how women were sexualized?

Well said! That is a key part of my argument, its all the women's choice! Nobody is telling you you have to be in a certain movie and presented a certain way! Nobody is telling you to wear a low cut top with a push up bra! Nobody(I hope...) is forcing you to contribute to producing porn! You can wear baggy pants and a sweatshirt everywear you go and never get a glimpse of penis if you want! But were all sexual beings, so at the very least tolerate those who 'sexualize' themselves. In a way, I respect women for 'sexualizing' themselves despite critism and being who they really are.

Feminist here, and I mostly agree with you.

The problem of "sexualizing women" is with promoting the treatment of actual women as sex toys instead of people. Some, of course, miss this point, and start campaigning against women being sexy. Which is what you're presumably talking about. And it's obviously pretty stupid.

I've had enough experience with "feminist" extremists (you know, the type that post about how men are pigs on tumblr) to tell you that they're basically just female incels.

There's also a concerning double standard going on too. Men face just as much or maybe even more pressure from unrealistic body standards as women do, but it's rarely viewed as problematic. Not to mention the fact that half of the media seems to think that men being raped is hilarious. Society has issues, my dude.

A feminist agrees? I consider this surprising, but I can't say I know all what the movement is about. A couple of hilarious steven crowder videos is all I know haha. Anyways, this phrase people use of "sex toys" or objectification doesn't really make sense to me. Like what exactly does that mean? From what I think it means, the fact that you are against it means you should hate my guts for posting this. It seems like you say you agree but then say the part you don't like it what I thought my post was about. Care to enlighten me?

Not familiar with Steven Crowder, but the problem is with the vocal minority. The people you see posting online the most (and made fun of the most) are the crazies the rest of us are trying not to associate with. Like I said, those people are just female incels. This isn't just a feminist issue - the internet has a serious shortage of moderate voices.

By "feminist", I mean I'm an advocate for gender equality, whatever that entails. When I say that people shouldn't objectify women, it's really exactly what it sounds like. Women are treated as human beings. It's really not a lot to ask for, although some of these problems are still ingrained into our society. This isn't to say that women can't or shouldn't be sexy, that's just ridiculous.

Steven Crowder is a ***HILARIOUS*** right leaning comedian, who also uses good common sense and logic in my opinion. He is very open minded and even my liberal friends like him. Strongly recommend checking him out on you tube, search louder with crowder.

As far as the rest, I am just confused where we differentiate between "women as objects" and "women who are humans primarily for sex or sex appeal ect". Are you saying that women aren't treated with enough respect or equality in some sexual situations? I just wonder if thay comes from all this extreme sexual shit nowadays. Like If you watch much BDSM porn like I do, its pretty fucking savage to women from the outside looking in. But its all consensual and people get crazy pleasure from it. Basically my point is, there are some women who love being treated like objects in a sexual context, NOT their entire lives. Some women love playing sex slave and would consent to it no problem. As far as the overall human secual dynamic is concerned, women will always have a more 'submissive', for lack of a better word, desire on the whole, simply because its the guy who has the dick.

            Yeah, that's basically it.

(And as far as BDSM porn goes, I only really watch femdom stuff).

BDSM porn is fucking awesome but only when the woman is on the bottom in terms of my preference. I do like to play both roles in real life, but I don't like seeing dicks in porn.

People definently overreact with this shit. I have seen some people say like movies with women dressed explicitly are bad because they 'sexualize' women. Really mate? Are you gonna come after pornhub next? Porn hub needs to stop sexualizing women?!?! For those who aren't religious(good job) we should no better than to have an issue with someone fapping to someone else who puts themselves out like that! This isn't ancient Jerusalem god dammit!

      • Exactly! I don't know why it always has to be turned into a shady, nasty thing. It's beautiful and sexy and a lady enjoying herself with her tits out and me drooling like a dog, whats the problem?

Well, it's annoying because it's almost everywhere. I'm a girl myself and I don't enjoy looking at other half naked (or naked) women, I have a mirror lol. If I want to look at naked people I watch porn; but movies, music videos, social media or whatever shouldn't be for that.

Women sexualize men all the time with even more unrealistic standards such as height! Guys cant change our height. They want six packs on six packs.

I dont complain about their standards so I'm not going to change what I Jack off to.

I don't think women CHOOSE height as a preference, I think to some extent its inherently more attractive because height is a symbol of health and physicality. I am sure there are some instances where women feel pressured to go for height tho. Sililar thing with abs, they symbolize lean whuch is usually healthier, so a lot of it us inherent attraction. But there are plenty of exceptions and some women take it too far. Look at me defending this when I am 6'4" with abs lol! Maybe I'm just biased.
