Is it normal to have no motivation in my "talent"

I'm currently working on a portfolio to get accepted into an art related program in college.
Essentially my whole life, I've been drawing and been told I'm good at it. Drawing is probably one of the only things I excel at.
Yet for some reason, I have little to no motivation to draw. I know others who have the talent and also spend their free time drawing for fun.
I often view drawing as a task, and I hardly ever draw anything more than a doodle or two in my free time. I don't even have the motivation to keep up with my portfolio, and the deadline is coming up soon.

  • Talent alone doesn't make you an artist. You need to make an effort, work on it.

Aren't artists supposed to be passionate? No offense, but you don't sound very passionate.

Sounds like it's time to find something you actually enjoy doing.
