Is it normal to have homicidal fantasies as an adult

Is it normal to fantasize in great detail of how you're going to kill and torture people for any little thing they did to you, at the age of 27? I know it's pretty normal for edgy kids to feel this way, and to be honest I fucking hate people like me, but I get so angry at the world for what people did to me, sometimes I just fantasize about killing, kidnapping, torturing all the horrible people here to ease my frustration and I would really like to do it someday.

I’m 21 and I’ve had the same problem since I was 16. It ain’t normal to feel this way and it won’t go away anytime soon unless you change your habits. People suggest seeking therapy, but will that really help? I don’t think so.

It's definitely not normal but apparently posting about it every couple of days is.

I'll tell you one thing, though, being angry at the world won't change anything in your life or how you feel. You're probably doing more harm to yourself than good with those fantasies and it's surely poisonous to your well-being. Now, I'm interested to know what kind of things make you feel victimized by those people you wish to hurt.

    • This is the first time I've posted this. I doubt the other person posting these is much older than 18.

That was not my main point, though.

        • Yea I don't really want to answer the rest because people will of course just say it's a stupid reason to want this, and that wasn't my main point, either. I'm just asking how abnormal it is, wondering if I need help or something. I already know it's dumb and pointless. My whole life just keeps getting worse and these fantasies only started recently so I was a little worried. I've never really had strong feelings like this before.

Fair enough. I wasn't asking to subsequently judge you, you'd already mentioned the reasons were petty so I wasn't expecting you to say it was something grand.

So, to answer your question, it's normal to feel anger and even have those fantasies but the moment you consider acting on those feelings, you have a problem. If not to us, talk to someone who can help you manage that.
