  • People - especially Americans - really enjoy judging other people on their sexual interests and the amount of experience they've had.

And, of course, the sort of TV program I suspect you're referring to is all about petty drama and manufactured conflict. The producers select participants they hope will provide that, so you'll see some sexually-inhibited prude put up against someone who really enjoys sex and has no interest in settling down with someone long-term right now. Or, even better, a pack of self-righteous prudes with just a couple of people who are relaxed about sex and are the producer's intended sacrificial victims in the program's search for eyeballs and social-media buzz.

'Promiscuous' is a value judgement. Some religious nutbags believe that sex with more than one person during your entire lifetime qualifies as promiscuity. Some people will believe that having a different sexual partner every year, month, week or day would make someone promiscuous. So the line you have to cross in order to be deemed promiscuous is determined by the cultural mores of the society you happen to live in and personal opinion. You can't ignore those things, but nor should you take them too seriously.

You don't cite a number or your age, but I strongly suspect that I'm several times your age and the number of sexual partners I've had is a lot less than your tally. But, for the nothing it's worth, I don't think that makes you a worse person than me in any sense. I've done me, and you should do you. If you're fortunate enough to find it simple to get new sexual partners, you enjoy variety and you've developed the skills necessary to quickly and accurately pick out the gems amongst all the bullshit, you should go ahead and get the most joy you can from this aspect of life during this phase of your life.

    • The "religious nutbags" of the sort that I encountered in the Southern Baptist church where I was raised had a general inability to sustain marriages with one another, tended to cheat on one another even when it meant leaving their disabled children behind, and were occasionally prone to homosexual behavior (in fact, I believe that there's some controversy there right now because a few more have come out).

In spite of this, the preacher and his repulsive, shrill-voiced wife would still sing "We Want America Back" in front of the entire fucking congregation.

And don't even get me started on all the "Kyles" that went to that church, but that's another story...
