Is it normal to have constant thirst and dark yellow?

Hello.

Lately I found myself nearly constantly thirsty and my urine is always yellow even after drinking 3-5 water bottles in several hours. I generally eat healthy and very rarely indulge in sweets, though I put on a lot I generally don’t consume much extra salty snacks like pretzels.

I'd go to the doctor and not play guessing games.

This. In the meantime, make sure you have all of your vitamins and drink 8 glasses of water each day.

How much water do you drink a day? If it's not 8+ cups, drink more. If you are drinking that much, perhaps you're missing some electrolytes?

Normally dark yellow urine is a sign of dehydration but from what you say you seem to be drinking enough water. I would see a doc for the possibility of diabetes.

By the way the urinating does sound like a possible symptom of diabetes, but often people lose weight when they have untreated diabetes not gain so who knows. Good luck at the doctor.

Why are you asking us? Go to a doctor and get yourself checked out.

You're probably just dehydrated. Even when you consume water, you're constantly sweating; it's why others advise those who work outdoors or in heated areas to drink plenty of water even if you don't feel thirsty. My suggestion would be to increase your water intake, and supplement it with a little Gatorade.

Drink more water if urine looks dark, that should be common sense.

    • I do. But I don’t feel like my thirst is quenched for long.

Is it extremely hot where you are? What do you do during the day that's increasing your thirst?
