Is it normal to have bright orange poop?

Sometimes I'll pass poop that's bright orange even though I haven't eaten anything that would make it that color. It is usually accompanied by cramps, discomfort, or pain in my rectum. This lasts for 1-3 days and happens 1-2 times a month. I initially thought it was something wrong with my diet so I started eating healthier and working out. Even with a change in diet (mainly cutting soda out of my diet completely) this still happens. Is this normal?

  • Mine gets orange and claylike when I consume artificial sweeteners or too much fiber(they're found in a LOT of low calorie drinks and foods). It took me a while to figure out what was messing my digestion up. I had to do the whole "eat this today and see what happens" to every single thing I ate. Perhaps you need to figure out which foods are doing it and cut them out?
