Is it normal to have been depressed when i wasn't reading the hunger games?

Is it normal for me to have been depressed when I wasn't reading the Hunger Games?
I felt like life was boring and when I read it life was complete. I felt like no other book will ever be as good and I got depressed when I wasnt reading it and I didn't want to do anything else!
I managed to pace myself with book 3 and slow myself down and I was no longer obsessed
But I read book 1 and 2 in less than a week (normally it would take me atleast a month to finish one of those books!)
Am I crazy or were the hunger games really that good? I can't possibly be the only one? Right...?

I'm more upset that 50 Shades of Grey has managed to outsell Harry Potter.

I'm like that when I read too...I recommend the A Song of Ice and Fire books (Game of Thrones), but if you just like romance books you could try the Fallen series or maybe The Southern Vampire Mysteries (True Blood).

I was almost the same way with 2 and 3. It took me a week and a half to finish 1 and I quit half way through 2. But once I went back it took 2 weeks to finish 2 and 3. But no where near 1 or 2 days...
I think you are alright. You'll have a bookhang over for a while but find a different book (not a series) and you'll get over it(:

I hated it and I like to think of myself as a veteran when it comes to literature. Saying that though I'm not a teenage girl so I don't really fall into the target audience. Most of the characters were so unbelievable that it just drew me out of the story.

I appreciate book series like Harry Potter and the Hunger Games because I see them as a young person's gateway into decent literature. They're by no means highbrow stuff (I call them "Hollywood literature"), but they're not mind-numbingly stupid either, and they're exciting enough to keep an otherwise easily-distracted teen engrossed.

The unfortunate thing is that the threshold for quality is just getting lower and lower. Case in point: Twilight, 50 Shades of Bullshit, etc. Stupid sells well, though...

I'm sick of hearing about 50 shades of grey, it is so poorly written I'm surprised it was even able to get published. I read a fair bit of women's erotica and it just doesn't measure up against the top books of the genre.

You know what's funny. I had never even heard of "The Hunger Games" until that movie came out, and now I'm hearing about it all the time. What is it about anyway? Because it must be a pretty damn good book/movie for it to have all this hype.

But, anyway, to answer your question, I would say just go back and read them again. Maybe you'll get something different out of them the second time around.

The movie was an epic fail like all others that are made "trying" to follow the books story line. You should read the books they were awesome and entertaining for the time being. It involves death, love, fighting and acting. Its about a girl. I hope I didn't give anything away. Just read it. :P Oh and be prepared for the final book it leaves an after taste.
