Is it normal to have an urge to open the door and jump out on the free way?

I love my life I don't want to die but sometimes in the car I feel like my armsgoing to open the door and I'm going to hump out. The urges have stopped happening as often as they used to but some times they r still there.

It'll hurt. I fell off a car (Yes, "off", long story) at around 60-70kms and it hurt. A lot. Not something I recommend.

I have had these urges too, especially when i was younger though. I had the urge to open the car door on the freeway not to jump out though. I also had an urge to aggressively jerk the steering wheel as my mother drove. I know this sounds nuts and I never really had the balls to do any of them nor do i really think i could pull it off but it was a reoccurring thought.... I really think its some form of OCD.

I used to be afraid id throw myself off those upper balcony walkways at malls, i guess your urge is like that!

I never actually wanted to really die but i think there was a fascination with death. As a child you get to experiment with everything like tasting things, throwing things to see hoW far you can make them go, and so many other things. Yet, you never get experiment with death. Your and my fantasies were probably a safe way to live out our fears and play with the possibility of death.

Hope that helps... Do you think that sheds some light on your situation?

I remember getting this urge to jump out of the window while driving around. Not really an urge, but the image definitely came to mind. I think it was more the claustrophobic in me screaming for freedom than anything else.

I do not suffer from a high degree of claustrophobia at all, but the urge wasn't all that grand either.
