Is it normal to hate listening to people talk that don't clear their throat?

I can't stand it when people do this. It's like they'll keep talking when they need to clear their throat. Then I do this weird thing by clearing my throat as if it's going to magically clear theirs or maybe they should get the hint to clear theirs.

Is It Normal?

  • Just karate chop them in the throat next time. That'll teach them!

  • Oh boy.. hate doesn't begin to describe what I feel when this happens. Yes, it's normal.. but I know some people that don't care about it. Not sure how they do it.

  • It's the most annoying thing in the world. It makes my throat itself feel uncomfortable, so I clear my throat.

One of my close friends does this, so I told him to clear his throat when it was audibly making that noise I hate to think of, but he said the STUPIDEST thing I could ever think of

"I don't need to clear my throat, my voice is fine"

I was ready to say "I can hear the mucus wobbling in your throat. That's not how a human voice is supposed to sound. You NEED to clear it"
Everyone who sees this, and hears it. PLEASE point it out to them.

  • I've never understood the whole throat-clearing thing. Never in my life have I felt the urge or need to do that...I'm really not sure why someone would need to.
