Is it normal to hate it when people are like you

I kind of hate it when people look like me, or talk like me, or like the same stuff as me, or that we just generally have something in common.. It feels like they stole a part of me I didn't want to share.. Is it normal to feel this way?

I love when I share interests with people. It actually makes me feel more connected to them. So, based on my experiences, I would say not normal. But, hey! It COULD be normal and I'm just missing something here.

It's hypocritical to be annoyed at someone who imitates you. Because it's not like you are a unique person who didn't grow up learning everything by imitating your family/peers. Hopefully this fact will help you change your feeling towards the issue.

Someone adopting my interests, likes, habits, thinking etc doesn't bother me. In fact... if I am able to intentionally or passively influence someone to something new, and they sincerely end up liking it or being that way -- awesome!

...except when people imitate an aspect of your personality for the wrong, shallow, or manipulative reasons. That is a big pet peeve of mine. Thankfully the beauty of this kind of imitation is that such people are easily recognizable, not only cause whatever's imitated is bastardized, but that the new trait may clash with their personality

I was all with Spankz there, until he wussed out in the last sentence.
How terrible your life must be if you don't share any common interests with those you know.
One would think you would have to live in a vacuum to be happy, if one lived as you would like to.
I'm guessing you have no desire for a girl/boy friend, marriage or any friends?

    • Oh I do, and I have friends, we just don't have much in common, but we get along just fine :) Sure, we have SOME things in common, but we don't talk about it much, I think it irritates them too.. I think I used the wrong words in the post, I don't really hate it, it's just kind of irritating, I kind of want to keep the things I like to myself.. :/

Honestly you sound pretty self centered. Who cares if someone likes the same shit as you? It literally doesn't affect you at all objectively. Plus if no one else liked the same things you do they probably wouldn't exist in the first place.
