IIN to hate Hershey's chocolate? (IIN to prefer Lindt, Dove or Others)

  • I'm from the UK, so I grew up with Cadbury's.

But Lindt is good too, and Milka (made my Mondelēz). Belgian chocolates are always lovely - I love Guylian's chocolate and praline shells... mmm. And Ferrero Rocher is amazing (but horrendously expensive).

I'll eat proper dark chocolate occasionally 70+% cocoa, which is nice. Like a different snack altogether.

I did try Hershey's a while back - I didn't like it. Tasted like it was made out of 90% sugar or something, with very little cocoa content. I get the impression a lot of American chocolate is like that?

    • Your impression is correct. I'm even willing to bet that the Lindt you eat in the UK is way better than the Lindt we have here.

      • I found this blog article about the difference between British and American chocolate:

        Pretty interesting :)

        • I'm sure there's some great chocolate in the US - I've just had a very limited experience.

I don't think anybody would claim Hershey's is the pinnacle of American chocolate, even if it is one of the most popular brands there.
