Is it normal to grow out your hair for the winter so you don't have to buy a hat

So I grow out my hair for the winter since I save money on haircuts and because I don't want to buy a hat. I live in Ontario Canada so it can get quite cold but not enough to convince me to buy a warm hat.

P.S. I do cut my hair once summer comes along to keep cool, I know this is normal.

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • Are u seriously so cheap and penny pinching to buy a hat? U can probably even get them for free or super cheap at goodwill or someplace similar.

  • Remember, humans are animals. Like almost every other mammal, it's natural to grow our hair out during the winter to stay warm, and shave or shed more in the summer.

Have you ever notice around Fall, you'll see a lot of guys trying to grow their beard out? Or have you ever noticed that when you wash your hair, you'll notice that you shed more during the summer than in winter (well, for those who don't shave their heads)?
