  • This is very normal and not over dramatic. You lost a family member/friend that was a huge part of your life. People just chalk it up to "it's just an animal", but they don't get it or just won't admit to understanding. My dog Blackie passed away a few years ago and I still get sad from time to time. I miss her greeting me when I came home, I miss running with her, rubbing her belly, walking her, playing with her and just being around her.

I remember when I was growing up(age 10-17), I'd take her for walks and creepy dudes that looked to be in their 30's would follow behind me saying shit like "hey mami" or "hey sexy". I'd tell them my age and they'd still bother me. Blackie picked up on my uncomfortable feeling and was ready to attack. I liked when she protected me.

    • I love that, I know what you mean, they sense how you feel and do their best to make you feel better. My dog used to try cheer me up wheneer I was crying or sad and he always did fix the mood. I'm sorry to hear about your dog, they really are the perfect friends aren't they, it's good to know that I'm not just being over dramatic about it and crying for nothing. I am sorry genuinely sorry for your loss though xx

      • Thank you. I'm sorry that you lost your friend. One of the things I love about pets is that they don't judge. They stay by your side. <3

This reminded me of when she would bring "presents" to me. One time it was a dead bird, another time it was meat she buried to save for later, another time it was a turtle(we named it Franklin and kept him as a pet).
        :)

        • They definitely do! I could've killed someone and he still would've followed by my side with his tail wagging, they're so loyal.

And aw so cute, dogs are so adorable.
