Is it normal to get annoyed at people that complain about lacking love lives?

I have friends who will complain about how insecure they are because they can't get a significant other. Fair enough. But then they really start to gripe with a 'woe is me, I'm so lonely' attitude that gets on my nerves very fast. I tend to bite my tongue and be nice but in reality I really just want to tell them to suck it up and move on. I don't want to be insensitive but sometimes I think certain people should put more emphasis on just enjoying life instead of overshadowing it with the pursuit of "love".

Is It Normal?

  • So true, I would love to have a partner but do we really need them? All they really want is some ass, I mean it's really tiring to date someone because you have to "please" them by doing useless shit.

  • dont worry ur just sane and not bothered by the subliminal message the media sends around saying you must hav a perfect partner to be happy. Or driven by hormones, ur fine.

  • You're normal. Loneliness is a problem but some people don't understand that it' a problem EVERYONE goes through. So the "woe is me!" is pure self pity.

And yes might make me sound insensitive but there are REAL problems out there.

Are your friends young? Highschool/college if they are then it's normal to be irrational

  • Loneliness absolutely consumes me, so I'd have to say no. I mean, not that it's freakish of you to think that way.. just insensitive.

  • I soooo lonely I wish I had a bf man I wish I could just have some to lay next to at night and have their arms wrapped around mine. I'm terribly with men but I'm really trying.

I hope to date someone soon.

    like that u mean?!!

  • yea, people spend too much of their energy worrying about their love life when they could really be doing more productive things.
