Whenever i find myself atop a cliff, tall building, open windows or whatever I get an overwhelming urge to jump, on a few occasions I have had to 'mentally restrain' myself, knowing it would surely kill me, yet the urge is still there, is this normal?
A friend of mine went through the same thing.I found out when I convinced him to get off the window ledge he was balancing on.After a chat we came up with one solution, that he should look into learning to do parachute jumping/skydiving type of sports(from approved/skilled people in this business). Maybe this is an option out there for people to pursue, where channelling that urge into a positive sport might be a lot more productive and fun?
same here! And you get to that place where you're almost going to do it tha tyou're moving slightly. But then I always pussy out.
I never get any urges like this, but I have heard of other people that do. The closest thing
I could relate myself to this is getting the urge to do something totally rediculous/embarrasing/dangerous, just to see what peoples reactions would be.
Completely normal. I'm not suicidal at all but I always get the urge to jump.
Yeah me too but I would never do it. I think it is that we are probably imagining what it is like to fall/jump from a great height.
I get that way too. It's really annoying. Gotta learn to ignore that voice! lol
