Is it normal to first feel nervous/shy when exposing myself to people i don't know?

So lately I have been speaking to people that are my age and I went talking about my favorite hobbies and interests, luckily for me I did get to talk to someone who loves instruments and music just like me.

At the beginning I felt nervous and shy but hours later I stopped feeling like that because I can handle myself with deeper conversations now.

I thought you meant like, physically exposing yourself...

  • I recently started watching Bones, my uncle recommended it when I was like 12, I should have watched it then

Something Booth tells Bones, or it might have been Michaela Collins' character, is to sometimes tell someone something you're not sure you want them to know

I've intentionally done this a few times, and in the moment it's a little scary, but afterwards when things settle a little and they're still just as cool with you, it really strengthens your bond with that person

It's really simple but for me anyway kinda hard, but yeah, open yourself up and trust forms. It just really sucks to do if most people you know give you ample reason to be wary of anyone
