Is it normal to feel nostalgic while watching something you didn’t grow up with?

For example: when I got disney+ I watched the episodes they had of The Mickey Mouse Club (the original from the 50s) and it made me feel pretty nostalgic, even though I never saw any of it a day in my life before, and aired decades before I was even born.

I feel very nostalgic when watching Beavis and Butthead for some reason.

I kinda feel this way about Doo wop... It's music from a time where the United States was the shining beacon of the western world. Every single day something new was discovered, or made.

The US had a booming economy after WWII, tons of chrome on gorgeous land yachts, the wonder of television, the peak of the golden Hollywood years and the beginning of post classical film era, the space race, dreams of a Jetsons-style future, men wore suits, or jeans, shirts and leather jackets (greasers) and looked awesome, women rocked beautiful dresses and skirts, with greaser chicks being the rebel hotties, the jet age was growing rapidly and you could visit places you could only dream of visiting... pc culture didn't exist and slang was cool. A country full of opportunities and chances to make it big.

The American dream was at it's best and Doo wop captures that in every single song.

I can see it now... A drive across California, a 1958 Plymouth Fury in red and white, Doo wop on the radio, my girl by my side and nothing but the lines on the road to keep us company.

Happy Days give me a similar feeling. It’s kinda weird because I like the 70s, when the show was made, but it idolized the 50s. It’s like being nostalgic for someone else’s nostalgia lol

I felt nostalgic the first time I watched Animals of Farthing Wood when I was like 17. In my case, I think it was mostly the music. The animation style also looked kinda old and cozy, so it could be that too
